Create the 2017-18 promo for the nationally renowned UCONN Men's and Women's basketball teams, to be screened on the jumbotrons before games and uploaded to UCONN Huskies social media platforms.
Our job required that we shot the '17-'18 UCONN Basketball season promos with a fresh approach, to excite the fans on this season's new team.
Dealing within boundaries is a necessity in production, and when UCONN told us that their main basketball stadium, Gampel, was closed for renovations, the director took the shoot on the road, in the fields, on the stairs, and on the top of the five-story parking garage.
My Role
Pre-production
*Joining a number of conference calls with client (team representatives) and the director, to fully communicate the shoot plan and get in front of any logistical issues -- including having a golf cart, notifying campus police, and discussing any team/player conflicts in the shoot plan.
*Ordering basketball hoops for delivery and pick-up.
*Managing schedule and time slots for both the Men's and Women's Team.
Field Producing
*Time management - due to the nature of the shoot and the importance of the proper natural lighting, keeping a strict schedule was key. That meant a 5:30AM call time for the Women's Team for sunrise and a wrap after 7:00PM to capture the Men's Team at golden and blue hour.
*Craft services, client management, logistics.
*Crew management.
